Instructions for Teaching The My Own Business Courses
MOBI offers two separate ready-to-teach courses.
- Starting my own business is a 15 session course designed for the entrepreneur who wants to start his or her own business.
- Building my own business is also a 15 session course developed for the entrepreneur who already has an established small business and would like to see that business grow and prosper.
We will provide free instruction and materials for each course to be taught in the classroom. Our ready-to-teach course includes:
- Textbook - a hard copy version of the online course with additional sections especially designed for the instructor.
- Instructor's Guide - includes ideas and suggestions for the instructor to present the course with ease and expertise.
- Classroom CD - includes a PowerPoint presentation for each session, templates, ideas for publicizing the course and more.
- Certificate of Completion - issued by the MOBI office.
Who is qualified to teach these courses?
Instructors must be graduates of the free MOBI course that they plan to teach (Starting my own business or Building my own business). MOBI will provide a Certificate of Completion upon successful completion of this free online course.
Where can the courses be taught?
Both courses are suitable for teaching:
- at educational institutions such as community colleges, trade schools, high schools, and adult education classes.
- through civic organizations such as Small Business Development Centers, Chambers of Commerce, Rotary Clubs etc.
- by independent individuals teaching private for-profit classes.
Does the course include examinations?
Yes. The final examination is standardized and conducted conveniently through our online system. The final examination and Certificates of Completion for both courses are furnished to students by MOBI at no cost.
What does it cost to conduct the course?
Each student is required to have a coded textbook. This personal code will provide free access to the graded final examination administered by the MOBI office which will issue the Certificate of Completion to the student.
All teaching materials are furnished free with a minimum order of 10 textbooks.
How do I get started?

- Sign the Course Presentation Agreement (CPA) and return it with your initial order 10 or more textbooks
- You will receive free the Instructor's Guide plus the Classroom CD
- Provide one textbook for each student
- Provide a minimum enrollment of 10 students

The course has been conducted internationally in colleges, community colleges, high schools, Small Business Development Centers, prisons, community service organizations and private for-profit teaching organizations.

The course is usually conducted in 15 meetings of 2 to 3 hours each. A desirable option is to also have guest speakers who share experiences in operating their businesses. The course is flexible and can also be conducted in shorter workshops or full school semesters.
